It’s cold out there. It’s so cold that I’ve been hiding inside in my PJ’s and the dogs are snoozing by the fireplace.
But then I started to read the story of the two men who froze to death on Toronto’s streets this week. And it got me thinking:
What can I do to make a difference?
Exactly 90 minutes ago, I reached out to a trusted group of REALTORS on Facebook and asked for their help. And true to form, they helped. Within those 90 minutes, we had a campaign name, a hashtag, a logo and an online donation site.
And so, I’m excited to share with you all, the #REALgiving Project.
It’s nothing fancy, but I think it can make a real difference. REALTORS all over the city have already begun collecting warm clothing (coats, hats, mitts, scarves, socks). But here’s the catch: the project ends this Friday. No procrastination. No excuses. Don’t have something to donate? That’s OK, we’re happy to take your money to buy some warmness.
We’ve set up these Drop Off Locations for your warm clothing items or donation:
Midtown: 1820 Bayview Ave, Toronto ON M4G 4G7
Downtown: BuzzBuzzHome office (regular business hours until Jan 9) – 331-333 Adelaide St. West, Suite 600 Toronto, ON, M5V 1R5
Leslieville: Spring Realty Inc (regular business hours until Jan 9) – 63 Colgate Ave, Toronto, ON M4M 0B1
Want to donate online? You can do that here:
Thanks to Uniiverse for waiving their service charges, Sage Real Estate, Spring Realty and BuzzBuzzHome for leading the charge and to all our fellow REALTORS and brokerages for making this happen. And of course, thanks to all of you who I know will donate what you can!
