Meet Brendan Powell, Broker of Record
My Life Before Real Estate
Before becoming a REALTOR in 2009, I was a bit of a nomad: I lived in Japan for a few years teaching, then worked for almost a decade as an international travel tour guide, eventually transitioning to writing about travel as a copy editor and writer. Throughout it all Toronto was always my spiritual home; the tour guides would often say “home is where your stuff is.” My stuff was in Toronto.
Why I Love Being a REALTOR
I love people, and there’s nothing more fun than sharing a new experience with someone–it’s why I loved being a tour guide. There are few more impactful experiences than buying or selling a home, and I still find guiding people along that journey exciting.
My Life Outside of Real Estate
I never shook my inner nomad, so travel is still one of my great passions in life…ideally combined with my obsessions with wine, food and music! I currently split my time between our St Lawrence Market condo and a house in Prince Edward County that became our COVID refuge during the pandemic. I have two fabulous dogs that essentially run the household.
