Welcome to Mississauga’s Mineola neighbourhood!

The neighbourhood is located on the south side of Mississauga, between Lakeview and Lorne Park. It is one the oldest hoods in Mississauga with two distinct areas: Mineola West siding on Port Credit (as the more prestigious catchment), and Mineola East siding on Cawthra.

Mineola West is known for housing the elite in the city, and the property price tags reflect this fact. There aren’t any real amenities in Mineola, but since the neighbourhood sides on Lakeview and Port Credit there isn’t a shortage of nearby options for transit (Port Credit Go), shops and eateries. The fact that there is a lack of amenities almost works to the benefit of this neighbourhood and keeps with the serene/elite atmosphere – there isn’t a lot of through traffic, and the people driving by typically live in the ‘hood.

 

Your Typical Neighbour

A mature neighbourhood calls for a mature neighbor – the average age in Mineola is between 50-59, with a below average number of children. Many Mineola residents have lived here for the long term, and if you walk the streets in this cottage like catchment it will be easy to see why.

What We Love

Mineola is like cottage country in the city – easy access to amenities, but a real secluded feeling amongst the large lots and mature tree lined streets.

What We Don’t Love

It’s really home to the elite in Mississauga and is not attainable for the average buyer.

The Real Estate Scoop

Within the two distinct catchments are some variances in the type of real estate – the prestigious Mineola West largely features custom luxury detached homes in the $2M+ range, and as such is not typically attainable for the average buyer.

Mineola East, on the other hand, has its fair share of custom homes but also has some more cookie-cutter subdivision type properties and small cottage-like homes. Although the properties in the east portion are typically less expensive than in the west, the prices are still much higher than what you will see in other areas of the city. The small cottage-like homes are sold at a premium, typically as land value only, allowing for investors and end-users to build up their own custom masterpiece.
