Welcome To Cliffcrest
Welcome to Toronto’a Cliffcrest neighbourhood!
Cliffcrest is a southern Scarborough neighbourhood along Kingston Road that contains a portion of the Scarborough Bluffs, and shares Bluffer’s Park with the bordering Cliffside neighbourhood. And, although you wouldn’t naturally associate breathtaking scenery, lush walkways, sandy beaches, and scenic cliffside lake views, with city-dwelling – you would be hard-pressed to try not to after a visit to Cliffcrest.
Once you’ve parked the car, or hopped-off the streetcar, or hey (for all of you exercise enthusiasts) locked-up your bicycle, in the Cliffcrest community, you’re instantly struck by the beauty and idyllic greenery that is typical of the area. Now, if you’re looking for instant access to the hippest restaurants and most trendy cafes, you may have travelled a little farther east than you needed to (turn-around, abort mission!). But, if you’re here to go on a hike, visit the beach(es), take-in awe-inspiring views, or find a forever home where you can plant some roots down…then you’re in the right place!
Homes in the Cliffcrest area are diverse and offer everything from bungalows to 1 1/2 story homes, new build mansions, and even the occasional floating home perched right on Lake Ontario.
Residents of the Cliffcrest neighbourhood bask in the area’s natural beauty and community-oriented offerings. It is a great neighbourhood for anyone, or any family, who appreciates living close to the water, taking an early evening stroll on the beach, weekend coffee dates, hiking and running trails, and tree-hugged residential streets.

Your Typical Neighbour
There’s a definite sense of community in Cliffcrest. Families intermingle. Neighbours smile and say hello.
What We Love
The mixed demographic of the area that brings culinary greatness, and there is a wealth of greenspace in walking distance. If a float home interests you, it’s one of only two places in the city you’ve got a hope of finding one.
What We Don’t Love
The culinary greatness is ethnic and affordable. But if you’re looking for some haute cuisine, be prepared to get in the car.
The Real Estate Scoop
This is a mature neighbourhood and the tree laden streets are a major contributor to the cottage feel of the area. Multi-cultural offerings abound. The north side of Kingston Road sees a number of apartment buildings and also some subsidized housing that delivers a well mixed demographic in the area. This is largely to thank for the delicious ethnic food offerings you can easily find here.
On the lake side of Kingston Road the property offerings shift. 40’s and 50’s built homes can be found in a variety of layouts that include bungalows, story and a half and two-story semi and detached homes. The smaller cottage style properties that leverage Lake Ontario views have often already seen appealing renovations, and the presence of a couple of very well respected schools have created demand.
Prices, while less shocking than the downtown core, are reacting to market pressure, and quick action with a best and final is likely the only way to score a home here.
Transit
Go Train (Eglinton Go) and Transit options can get you downtown faster than and automobile will. But if you’re intent on your four wheels, Kingston road is a viable option. A car will be needed for daily errands as well.
Schools
School offerings in Cliffcrest (and nearby Beaches) are plentiful, and the level of family participation is evident in the high performance ratings that many have. This fact is a significant contributor to the popularity of the ‘hood among young families.
