The High Park Lofts is a purpose-built loft development in the heart of Roncesvalles Village in Toronto. Fashioned around a stunning atrium space, this 7-storey midrise houses 90 soft loft spaces ranging in size from 549 to 1906 square feet. The atrium offers natural light to both ends of most of the suites here that are laid out in single, split or 2-storey designs.
This building has been criticized for a design that feels out of place in the Roncesvalles neighbourhood, but we don’t entirely agree. It offered some really thoughtful design and above-average standards that included gas fireplaces, and in some instances built-in shelving, desks and Murphy beds in den spaces. Private rooftop gardens with deeded ownership were offered as well, allowing for private outdoor space where it didn’t otherwise exist. This is a smart use of rooftop space no matter how you slice it.
Amenities in the building include common rooftop space with BBQ access, meeting and party rooms and concierge. Proximity to High Park, oodles of transit options and the Roncesvalles Village charm are all great reasons to consider living here. If the price of houses in the area is out of your reach, High Park Lofts is a great option to consider.
What We : High Park Lofts is one of the few condo options in the area, and the only one right on Roncesvalles; certainly it’s one of the only affordable ways to own in the area. It’s all about the (fantastic) neighbourhood.
What We Don’t: If your only “outdoor” space is a balcony facing the covered atrium, you might feel a little like you’re living in a 1980’s Howard Johnson’s. (Sorry, it was the first thing that came to mind!).
