Meet Kellye MacMillan, Marketing Manager

What do I love about my job?

I love that I get to work with this group of passionate, dedicated people. They’re really (really) good at what they do, and I genuinely enjoy collaborating with them. It’s rare, and I feel fortunate to have had this opportunity.

I love that I get to work within the real estate industry in a role that allows me to be both creative and strategic at the same time and use my experience as a broker to inform the work I deliver. I have 11 years of observations and conversations with buyers and sellers in both Hamilton and the GTA to help me create marketing that speaks directly to our audience.

My role requires me to stay current on current and future trends in social media and digital marketing, which is a very professional way of saying that I sometimes get paid to watch TikTok.

How does what I do impact the BREL team’s buyers and sellers?

In short, I create and deliver the content that attracts the most attention to our listings. Our sellers can count on the marketing for their home to reflect the time, effort, and investment they have made into it.  It’s more than just making pretty feature sheets – it’s developing a creative strategy that shows the property at its best and then ensuring the most people see the final product.

I support our buyers by creating and sharing other real estate content that educates them on the market, process, etc, so they can confidently move forward with their purchase.

How does what I do help the BREL’s real estate agents?

My work lets the agents focus on the most critical aspects of their role – the client relationship, negotiations, and market expertise. The agent’s input is essential to the success of our marketing. No one knows the property, the seller, and the potential buyer better than our agents. I take their brilliance and convert it into successful marketing.

When I’m not working, you can find me…

I like starting and sometimes finishing DIY projects around my century home in Hamilton.

Most of my free time is spent with my family — my husband and I are lucky to have two pretty awesome kiddos. They talk a lot but are usually pretty funny, so it all balances out.

I spend too much time scrolling on TikTok (because it’s my job!).

I collect cookbooks and love to cook—”Jubilee” by Toni Tipton-Martin and “Spice Box” by Sunil Ghai are my current favourites. This has led to a love of gardening, so I putter around in the backyard as much as possible.

I love watching the Buffalo Bills even when they break my heart (so always), and I get far too invested in my fantasy football team.
